On 31 October and 1 November, Catholics are invited to gather at the Liverpool Catholic Club for “The Way of Hope” Alpha Catholic Conference—a two-day event designed to ignite personal discipleship, renew parishes, and equip every baptised person for mission.

Tania Rimac, from the Parish Renewal Team within the Sydney Centre for Evangelisation and Leader of Alpha in a Catholic Context in NSW, is passionate about the event’s broad vision.

“It is a conference on mission, about gathering the church with a vision,” she explains.

“The first day, the Friday, will be about personal discipleship. And the second day is focused on formation and on being equipped to to step out in faith and service to build up the kingdom of God.”

Tania is eager to dispel the myth that the conference is only for those already involved in Alpha.

“It’s not just for people that are interested in Alpha or people that are doing Alpha. This conference will be focused on mission and is for everyone,” she said.

Workshops will cover a range of topics, from youth ministry and marriage enrichment to clergy formation. There will also be a clergy-only workshop stream.

The conference will feature keynote addresses from Bishop Michael Gielen from Christchurch, New Zealand and Sr Elena Marie OP a Dominican sister and psychologist.

“We will hear stories from across the Church and different mission fields such as schools, prisons and of course parishes, for youth and adults. We will have Adoration on Friday evening and begin the Saturday session with Mass to celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints,” said Tania.

“This invitation is for everyone, no matter where you are on in your mission and discipleship. We are all called and sent by Jesus to share this good news with others, and sometimes we don’t know how to do that,” Tania said.

Register now and take advantage of the Early Bird Special—just $225 for both days if you register by 15 September.
