The Archdiocese of Sydney is set to welcome renowned Catholic couple Matt and Cameron Fradd for a special “Parents Night Out” event on Wednesday, 5 February, from 7-9pm.

Marking the first time the couple will present together in Australia, Sydney parents are invited for a night immersed in their combined wit, wisdom and experience

Matt, known for his popular podcast, Pints with Aquinas, has become a respected and renowned Catholic voice, while his wife Cameron recently stepped into the spotlight after a joint appearance on her husband’s podcast resonated deeply with listeners.

Cameron launched her own podcast, Among the Lilies, more than four years ago, designed for women who are “tired of pretending and ready to be real,” focusing on authentic discussions about faith, femininity, and her own personal struggles.

She has experienced chronic joint pain for several years and has spoken about the link between chronic pain and autoimmune diseases, and about mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and post-partum depression as well as miscarriage.

In the past the pair have openly shared their personal struggles, including Cameron’s health challenges and their approach to raising children in today’s complex, cultural landscape.

Their vulnerability and reliance on faith have endeared them to many, offering hope and practical insights to couples and families.

The evening will feature light refreshments and ample opportunity for attendees to connect with like-minded parents and couples.

The format will allow for an organic dialogue between the Fradd’s, as well as a Q&A session with the audience.

“Cameron is an example of the Catholic woman in terms of that feminine ‘genius’, that feminine example of receptivity and bearing one’s cross during great spiritual and physical suffering, and persevering in the vocation of being a wife and being a mother,” said Simon Yeak from the Life Marriage Family team within the Sydney Centre for Evangelisation.

“In Sydney they’ll be addressing common questions such as, how do you raise your children? How do you protect them from the influences of the world, like pornography? “How do you take care of them amongst the cultural attacks that are happening on the family?”

“It’s a chance to see a great witness of two people who faithfully live out the Catholic faith,” Simon explained. “They display masculinity and femininity in their own unique, dynamic, witty, funny, humorous way.”

Matt was a celebrated voice at last year’s Women’s Conference hosted by the Sydney Centre for Evangelisation. Simon believes having Matt’s wife and female perspective by his side will be an enriching experience for the parents who attend.

“To hear about what it’s like from the women’s perspective and having them bounce off each other will reap so much fruit, because they’re such a wonderful Catholic dynamic duo,” he said.

“They’re very honest with the challenges of marriage and being a parent and it will give a lot of hope to those people going to listen to hear how family life can be nourished.

“Catholic parents can feel like they’re in silos, like I’m the only one doing this the way I’m doing it and it can be isolating. This is a chance for them to meet other parents and other couples and learn of other communities out there where they could obviously find nourishment from one another.”

The organisers hope attendees will leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and re-energised in their vocations as spouses and parents with the affirmation that being a Catholic parent, husband, or wife is a beautiful gift and a path to true happiness and freedom.

“It’s going to give men and women encouragement and support that it’s okay to live out your vocation because that is what God is calling us to, and they live that out unapologetically in their Catholic faith, because that is the very cusp of our identity,” said Simon.
