While many flock to their local parish for the Easter Triduum, over a thousand people will participate in the biannual Light to the Nations Easter Youth Pilgrimage.

This year, Light to the Nations is on! Young adults from all around Australia and internationally camp under open skies while partaking in the celebration of the Easter triduum inside a marquee. Participants have an opportunity to encounter Jesus through prayer, the sacraments, worship, a live reenactment of Jesus’ passion, drama, music, and personal sharing.

Therese Mills MGL, director of Light to the Nations, considers herself privileged to coordinate this significant event where “young people, families, children, even the elderly” gather together to journey through the Easter triduum.

She said it was wonderful “seeing a group of young people experiencing Stations of the Cross and discovering what Jesus did for them or witnessing the delight at the Easter Saturday Vigil where hundreds of young people raise their candles singing ‘the light of Christ has come into the world’ with deep belief.”

Light to the Nations will take place on 2 April to 5 April, Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday.

It will be held in the bushland setting of the Mt Carmel Retreat Centre in Varroville. The Disciples of Jesus Covenant Community has organised the event since 1987. Registration and more information on the event is available online at lttn.org.au.
