Photo galleries: Easter at St Mary’s Cathedral and beyond

Most read

Jesus Christ is alive! Sydney’s Catholics embraced the Sacred Triduum with love and devotion, commemorating the Lord’s arrest and crucifixion for our sake, his death and resurrection.

Beginning on Holy Thursday, people gathered at St Mary’s Cathedral and parishes across the city for a Seven Churches pilgrimage. Many made the journey to the Shrine of Our Lady of Mercy at Penrose Park on Good Friday for a Passion Play that draws thousands annually.

The Easter Vigil saw new Catholics confirmed and receiving their first holy Communion, and on Easter Sunday morning churches filled again in celebration of the great feast.
