In a historic moment for the church in Sydney, the third and last of the regional Synod consultations saw hundreds of Sydney faithful gather to offer their ideas for the future of the church at All Saints Parish in Liverpool on 16 October.

Douglas Colbran, the newly-appointed youth and young adults coordinator at All Saints Liverpool, is brimming with excitement as he prepares to bring up to 50 young people to the upcoming Synod consultation that will be held there next month.

At the recent Paschal Eucharist Mass, as the church in Sydney welcomed a cathedral full of proud new Catholics, one Campbelltown father stood proudest.

It was an historic and joyful occasion for All Saints Parish in Liverpool, as Fr Paul Monkerud formally unveiled its new mission and vision on 25 May, marking what parishioners describe as a transformative moment for the community.

This is the edited text of the homily given by Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP at the Mass for the 60th anniversary of All Saints Catholic Church Liverpool and 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time, 22 September 2024. 

Past and present parishioners and pastors joined dignitaries for a warm celebration of the diamond jubilee of the All Saints church building in Liverpool, among them, the first woman married there.
