With the death of Pope Francis, the canonisation of Blessed Carlo Acutis, which was scheduled for 27 April, has been postponed.

Pope Francis advanced the sainthood causes of one woman and five men, including Antoni Gaudí, the Spanish architect who designed the Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona, Spain.

As we commence a Catholic Jubilee Year, a 725-year-old tradition of our faith, we eagerly await the canonisations of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925) and Blessed Carlo Acutis (1991-2006) as part of the Jubilee’s focus upon the Christian life as a pilgrimage toward the Lord, the source of our hope.

Pope Francis has declared as saints 16 Carmelite martyrs executed by guillotine during the French Revolution and confirmed the martyrdom and heroic virtues of five others in a series of decrees published 18 December.

Pope Francis announced 20 November that he will elevate Acutis and Frassati, both currently titled "blessed," to sainthood in 2025, when the universal Catholic Church will mark a jubilee year.

The announcement for Blessed Carlo Acutis' canonisation date has been set. Pope Francis declared that next year on the "Day of the Children" he will canonise the Blessed.
