Pope Francis confirmed his intention to travel to Nicaea in 2025, during his meeting with the International Theological Commission.

The Ecumenical Patriarch of the Orthodox Church, Bartholomew I of Constantinople, made an historic visit to St Mary’s Cathedral as part of his tour of Australia. The University of Notre Dame Australia awarded him with an honorary doctorate for his ministry of unity and commitment to dialogue and environmental issues.

Cardinal-Elect Mykola Bychok CSsR has been appointed the church’s youngest cardinal, Australia’s eighth, and the eighth of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church. In “shock” after his appointment, the missionary bishop says he hopes to be a “breath of fresh air” for the migrant-rich Australian church.
