Melto D’Moronoyo: The cross stands firm
On the Cross, Jesus did not just suffer, he won. He crushed sin, defeated death, and opened the door to heaven. That is why we do not simply carry the cross, we lift it high. Because it is not only pain, it is power. Not only sacrifice, it is salvation.

Melto D’Moronoyo: The Feast of the Holy Cross
This feast, celebrated on 14 September, commemorates how, in 628, Emperor Heraclius recaptured the Cross that the Persians had stolen in 614. On this day, we also commemorate the finding of the Cross by St Helena in 326, and the dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It reminds us of the shortness of life, and to focus on what is eternal, writes Fr Yuhanna Azize
