As the holy season of Lent unfolds, women across Sydney and beyond are being invited to pause, reflect and deepen their spiritual life at a pair of inspiring retreat days this year.

The Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia, in collaboration with the Catholic Women’s Network and Sydney Catholic Schools, will host a Women’s Lenten Retreat.

Called Seek His Face: Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney Women’s Lenten Retreat will be led by the Dominican Sisters and hosted by the Catholic Women’s Network and Sydney Catholic Schools  on Saturday 28 February and again on Saturday 14 March 2026 at St Mary’s Cathedral College Hall in Sydney.

Each retreat runs 9 am to 4 pm, offering a rich schedule of prayer, formation and communal encounter for women of all ages.

Based on past gatherings that have drawn hundreds of participants, this year’s events are designed as a day of spiritual refreshment, combining keynote talks, breakout sessions, Eucharistic adoration, opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and times of silence and reflection.

There will also be free time throughout the day for Eucharistic adoration and personal prayer, allowing retreatants to step back from daily distractions and enter more fully into the Lenten journey.

Organisers emphasise that these retreats are not just for seasoned parishioners but welcome all women seeking to make this Lent more meaningful — whether you’re a mother, student, professional, or retiree.

In recent years, similar retreat days led by the Dominican Sisters in partnership with the Catholic Women’s Network have drawn record numbers of participants, reflecting a growing desire among women to strengthen their relationship with Christ and with one another through shared prayer and formation.

Cost: approximately $50 per person (includes refreshments and lunch).
